Intestine Scraper Muffins (Parental Advisory: Potty Talk)
The quicker your food…er… exits the better. With that and a few days of unhealthy eating in mind, I concocted a batch of intestine scraper muffins! These delicious darlings are packed with psyllium seed husk, oat fiber, wheat bran, flaxseed meal along with blueberries and uber-ripened banana. The psyllium expands to scrape your intestines clean, the Scrubbing Bubbles of plant fiber, while the insoluble fibers (wheat, flax) draw moisture to the undigestibles traveling through the intestinal tract, easing them out more quickly.
2 heaping TBsp sugar
½ tsp vanilla
2 ripe bananas
½ cup whole wheat flour
(½ cup fibrous stuff)
1 heaping tsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
½ tsp cinnamon
Pinch of salt
Optional: dried fruit, more fibrous cereal, berries
Pre-heat 375
Mash banana in large bowl, set aside
Melt butter, sugar and vanilla over low heat, set aside
Add flour, fibrous stuff, baking powder & soda, cinnamon, salt in banana bowl, mix til combined
Add butter mixture and optionals
