Heading South: White Sands National Monument

A visit to White Sands National Monument, 100 miles north of the Mexican border, had more enchanting views, more blue sky backdrop.Β  This state is so varied in its beauty.Β  Standing within these stark white sand dunes was a thing of fantasy.Β  It’s like you’re on the beach, but you see the mountains in the distance. The soft gypsum curves beckon you.Β  Sand angels, sledding, sunbathing–all appropriate at White Sands National Monument.Β  It is a unique place that is a easy stop, though Border Patrol detoured the entire highway for a random check right before the monument.
