Red Robin…. Meeeeh.

The burger chain/casual eatery Red Robin has opened its doors close to home.  As I saw its construction progress on Merrick Road in Bellmore, I became slightly excited.  After a couple of weeks of it opening its doors, we hit it prime time on a Friday.  Luckily we were able to score bar seating without a wait.

On the vegan front, you can sub the BOCA burger in any of their burger creations. I kept it simple, however.
Though a real live (dead) burger was placed in front of me incorrectly first, the manager then made my order on her own. BOCA, add avocado, whole wheat bun. And the fries (vegan) are “bottomless.”  The burger was ok in a texture way… but gosh, so damn bland. Nothing had any real taste–not the patty, not the red onion (?!), not the tomato. Though I am thankful for vegan options anywhere, there is no subbing out bad produce.  I guess I am kind of like a produce snob?
