Breakfast can often go two ways–vibrant or gluttonous. This morning we headed over to a no-fail vegan breakfast option that I rarely take part in, an acai bowl. I got The Patriot with banana, strawberry, blueberry, coconut, and acai at Brazailian Acai Bowls in Bakersfield. It did the job.

On our way to Los Angeles we would stop at an animal sanctuary in Mojave, The Sanctuary at Soledad Goats. Though sweltering, we surrounded ourselves with its special inhabitants.
Heading further south, lunch was at La Charrita Restaurant which recently launched a comprehensive all-vegan menu with diverse, authentically Mexican dishes. A gem of a find, it was wonderful to eat our second real Mexican eatery that offered scrumptious options for vegans.
