The Incorrigible Children of Sleighton Farm
Back at the Abandoned Reform School For Female Delinquents
The Church

After some additional recon, I was finally back at the Sleighton Farm School in Glen Mills, Pennsylvania. My first visit a couple years back was just a small taste of the decaying sprawl of the reform school for juvenile delinquent girls. We wanted badly to find the campus’s church, but left a bit quickly and then encountering the police on the way out. I am happy to report that I was able to get to the church this time and it is well worth the additional time and planning.

Anticipation is high as I get some exterior shots. It is an impressive church with a capacity of 300. The stonework is similar to the rest of the Sleighton structures. I learned from here that it was completed in 1965 and was made possible by the generosity of Edward M. Ulmer and his sister in memorial of their parents. Thank you, Edward and sis, as I now can capture some shots of the sturdy steeple.

Inside, the ceiling is still in wonderful condition.
